For Whom The Bell Tolls..

It sounds creepy to some and peaceful to others.....chimes!
I hear my chimes dinging wildly in the back of my house. To me it is beautiful. I looked at my blog and realized that I have not posted in some time. I also realize as I type this, I am the only one who will ever read it. You put yourself out there and yet it is completely anonymous! ha!
I guess I am a horrible blogger as I really ahve nothing to talk about UNLESS someone asks me a question.....
Sad eh?

The Sound of Silence

It is fall and the crispness of the air takes my breath away sometimes when I walk outside of my house.
It is amazing to me, that a whole year has gone by again so quickly. School is going along at a nice clip and so has my workout schedule. Until Thanksgiving. Now I am back out of a routine and feeling a little flabby.
It also seems like very long ago we had an election. And yet, it was not so long ago. I am so glad it is over. The political commercials were about to kill me!
Little things have happened and big things have happened.
I was lucky enough to meet a new girl. She is a whip and fun to hang around. She likes to go for walks too~helping me to be unflabby.
Another lady I knew, although not very close too, died this past week from breast cancer. It is so sad. She leaves her 4 year old son. Just goes to show, you never know how long you have.
Another friend of mine from high school just filed for divorce. His wife was cheating on him. So much sadness near a time of year that is to behold so much happiness.
Another lady I know has had two children that she is close with die in the past few months. It breaks my heart to see such sadness on a mother's face.
How difficult can it be to bury your own child. Something I hope I never have to do. It reminds me of how the NBC producer is now feeling the same sort of pain over the loss of his 14 year old son in a plane crash.
Maybe I take on others suffering too much, but I seem to feel very sad over their losses. I try to put myself in their position in an attempt to empathize with what they are going through. That is taking its toll on me to. You cannot shut everything out, life goes on. But there is a fine line between reliving things over and over again and just feeling sad for someone.
Am I babbling yet??
Well anyway. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all!!

Kindergarten

WOW!
What a flurry of activity a swarm of 5 year olds can make!
My turn to volunteer. 20 little 5 year olds descended upon my table to find out what snack they had to make. Little marshmallows with peanut butter.....Who knew making snack could be such a challenge. They can do a lot at that age. I was amazed.
Back to it next Monday, or so the teacher says.
I guess it depends on the hubby's work schedule.
I am sure this will not be the last time I am in Kindergarten.

Faith and Family

Wow. The funeral was so inspiring. I never knew he was such a loved kid and so inspirational to his family and classmates. He just seemed like he was in love with the goodness in the world and such a tender hearted kid.
There is a scholarship fund set up in his name. That is so nice to hear of too. Others can benefit from his life and love of Jesus.

It is amazing to me how an event like this can inspire us and also make us reflect on our lives and where we are going.

Blessings to all.....

(there is a page with his picture on my web site)

Sadness and Grief

It is with much sadness that I am posting this blog today.

http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/wdhlocal/286625433604114.shtml

Just a few days ago I learned that my 15 year old cousin drowned in a lake near his home.
Why? How come? Is it fair?
How can his parents possibly be coping with this great loss? I, as a parent, cannot comprehend what they are going through.
He was a sweet shy little kid. I remember when he was baptized. My dad is his Godfather.

We have to go to the funeral tomorrow. Talking to my son about death is a new challenge also. What do you say? How do you explain that?
Well, all of these things are chasing through my mind. I am so tired from thinking.

I think I learned......

I had an Ahhh moment today. Sometimes thoughts just click in your head that make a ton of sense. I think that is God speaking to us. But, I digress.....

I was thinking of people in my past whom I want to contact, those whom I have not spoken to in quite some time. I thought about the conflicts we had and how I just want to talk to them or try to explain something to them, or maybe share something that I did not get across the last time we communicated.
But then the thought entered in to my head...

You do not have to try to teach them anything. You do not need to explain yourself. If God wants to teach them something through you, He will. And God will let me know if that is his plan. Other wise, just let it and them and the past go.

Sounds easy, or simple, but if you think about it, that is a pretty heavy statement. That is a lot to let go. Especially if you have felt wronged or taken advantage of.

Well, back to my life I guess. It was a great thought I think.

30....Already??

WOW!
Time has gone so quickly. I know, that sounds cliche, but it is true. I mean I barely remember 20-30. I think I recall more from 15-20?
I do actually feel older this year. I didn't feel that way the past few years, but I really do feel like 30 now.
I never thought I would be where I am at 30. I saw myself in a career I loved, dressing professionally and going to work everyday. What a difference that is from my real life. I stay at home and my professional work clothes are actually t-shirts that I do not mind getting permanently stained. Can you consider making grocery lists part of CEO duties?
I guess maybe...

Well, as my birthday card put it:

Thirty?

It's all a joke until it happens to you.

Bye all~~
